How Can You Improve the Energy Efficiency of Your Property?

Here at Compliance365 we provide a variety of energy audits to help identify ways in which a property’s energy efficiency can be improved.

The British government has set a long-term trajectory of as many any homes as possible improving their EPC rating to Band C by 2035 where practical, cost-effective, and affordable.

Legislation changes as of 2018 now require tougher Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements, meaning it is unlawful to let residential or commercial properties with an EPC rating of F or G. Did you know that up to 35% of commercial buildings in the UK could fall below these new energy standards? Fines of up to £5,000 are now issued to landlords that rent out properties who fail to meet these regulations.

The government has found that the number of properties registering as having the lowest Energy Performance Certificates (EPC Bands F and G) has dropped from 19 per cent to 13 per cent between 2010 and 2016. At Compliance365, we can offer advice and guidance to help this statistic improve, which could help you save money and increase your energy efficiency significantly to tie in with the government’s initiative.

When a property has been found to have an F or G EPC rating, Compliance365 offer a bespoke MEPS EPC Report. These reports are created to accurately calculate the least expensive and easiest building upgrades to attain an EPC rating of “E” or above. Our bespoke MEPS EPC Reports are aimed at identifying areas of improvement within the building which could better the overall energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption and assess its subsequent energy performance rating.

In addition to MEPS EPC Reports, we offer bespoke energy audits, which propose cost effective recommendations which suggest how a property could improve its efficiency and EPC rating, not only saving you money, but also reducing the risk of damage to the environment. This includes assessing any behavioral changes that could be made to reduce the property’s energy consumption, further lowering damage to the environment.
